The kids nodded eagerly, ready to follow Hoot’s guidance.

“Climb onto my back,” Hoot instructed, lowering his wings to make it easier for them.

One by one, the children climbed onto Hoot’s broad back, holding on tightly to his soft feathers. Once they were all settled, Hoot spread his wings and soared into the air. The wind rushed past them as they flew over the lake, the surface below shimmering with strange lights and colors.

As they flew, the kids noticed that the lake wasn’t as calm as it appeared from the shore. The waters rippled and swirled, creating patterns that looked like faces and shapes. Every now and then, a shadowy figure would rise from the depths, only to disappear just as quickly.
